Corsair 780T full tower front panel usb 3.0

I have an Asus z170-A motherboard that does allow usb 3.0 and has two ports for them. The Corsair 780T case has front panel i/O connectors for usb 3.0 that uses a 20pin connector. For some reason this does not go in the motherboard it feels like it wont fit and I already broke the pins once and amazon was kind of enough to replace it. I want to buy another front panel that has 2 usb 3.0 and 2 usb 3.1 connections in a week or two but first I have to figure out how to connect these. Thanks for the help guys. I have some photos of how my front panel usb 3.0 cable looks. It almost seems like it has a safety cap or something. I noticed it doesn't look the same as others.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I don't see how I can remove it tho. I tried squeezing the sides of it and it does wiggle a little. But then I also don't want to break it in case it's not a cap. Has anyone else ever seen a safety cap on the cable? Especially on their own 780t cases?

No. I bought it from amazon. i got the box with all the manuals as well. It could be a motherboard header stuck to it now that I think about it. I did get it plugged in the first motherboard that broke but when I pulled it out to do some cable management I couldn't get it back it which broke the first motherboard and it got it replaced.

Mine certainly looks nothing like that. If it did have some kind of cap it was easy enough to remove that it never registered to me. Fair do, alcohol had been consumed before I slapped my system together but the only problem I remember is swapping out the 2 140mm fans for 3 120mm.

Problem solved. It was the motherboard header stuck to it. I grabbed a butter knife put some force on each end then it came off. It was a successful connection to the motherboard this time around and now the front panel usb 3.0 works. Have photos to show the difference.
