HackManSD
HackmanSD here, thought it might be a good idea to start this thread not only for users to get bragging rights, but to actually show what got you there. Showcase any and all benchmark result screen shots you want, just be sure to list the following: CPU/Motherboard/Memory used Bios setting you feel helped reach that awesome score(screen shots work best) GPU(s) used if running Graphics Benchmarks Batch number(Optional) if running Devils Canyon A Shot of your system I'll get the ball rolling with a clients i7-4790K@4.9. HackManSD
posted here: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=127213 Nice over clock! That's really impressive. Is it stress test stable at that speed? What tests do you use to test your over locks? I think I'll add that to the info needed as well.
emissary42
For this machine i don't really care about pure stress testing, because it would be a waste of time. It's mostly used to test memory kits for my user reviews and therefore gets components swapped in and out every other day. Normally i use a GIGABYTE Z87X-OC for that, but wanted to show some guys in my home online community, what the MSI Z87I Gaming AC was capable of even with merely air cooling. As long as i don't get any CPU overclocking related errors during memory testing, i consider it stable enough - for me anyways. Just the time it takes to in place prime Haswell overclocks through the like dozen relevant FFT values for several hours makes me kinda sick... so i'll pass on "absolute" stability :ummmm:

It takes way too much time going through Prime tests. I've had this thing stable at 5GHz with Prime but bsod while playing Battlefield 4. Not sure it is even relevant anymore!!! It used to be the "Best" stability test but I just don't know anymore. Where can I check out some of your reviews?

It used to be the "Best" stability test but I just don't know anymore. It still is super useful for stability testing, but you really need to know how to use it the right way. Doing standard runs is pointless with Haswell and probably will as well be for all upcoming Intel architectures. You need to know the relevant FFT values and test each one of them for several hours or do a full in-place run with at least two hours per value (--> that takes several days to complete!). Where can I check out some of your reviews? Can you actually read German? :greengrin
jameyscott
My favorite stability test is X264. The reasons why I like it is because it is just encoding, so when I do render video (For my small review channel) I know it is going to be stable, and it also shows what real world temps you are going to be getting. So, if you are seeing 65C while X264 is running, you can expect that to be about the max temp you will ever see on your CPU. So many people could edge out more of their CPU if they didn't care about Prime stable. Prime is unrealistic and is even more than a worse case scenario. The temps you see in a Prime blend will never happen in the real world. (Unless you take your block or heatsink off! :P ) That's my opinion though. I don't care what other people consider stable, because I know what works for my system(s) I've overclocked two 4770ks like that (both got to 4.7ghz with a measly 1.325v), two 3930k's, and a 4820k without any issues at all. So, it works for me! :P

HOODedAssault
You didn't include your voltage settings. I'm sure you don't have vcore, cpu cache, input voltage etc. all on auto.
emissary42
Who do you mean? I have a HWInfo64 window showing the voltages in my screenshot.
HackManSD
Who do you mean? I have a HWInfo64 window showing the voltages in my screenshot. That screen shot carried all of the relevant info needed, IMO. What kind of score does that thing manage in Cinebench?
