Earendil
Hello all, I recently purchased a GPU that needs an 8-pin PCIe cable and do not have one. I have looked at the cable chart and see that I the cable I need is specific to the AX1200, but I don't see what the part number is, or where to find one. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Please and thank you.
c-attack
You don't have a PCI-E cable for that kit? There should have been a bundle of 8/6+2 PCI-E cables. At least 3-4 of them.
Earendil
The PSU was given to me in exchange for some work I did, but I didn't get the entire cable set. I'm sure I could buy a full set somewhere, but I'd rather not when all I need is one cable.
c-attack
OK. I think this, but the AX1200 Gold is kind of an oddity, so hopefully someone can confirm this is the right cable. Other type 3 PCI-E cables are listed as compatible with the "1200" (no other designation), but I suspect they don't mean the AX1200 Gold. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-%7C-Parts/PC-Components/Power-Supplies/AX-Series%E2%84%A2-PCIe-cable%2C-compatible-with-AX1200-only/p/CP-8920016
Earendil
I've ordered something off of eBay. Hopefully it's the right part. If not, I'll likely end up getting an entirely new PSU.
Corsair Employee Corsair Notepad Posted August 7, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted August 7, 2019 If its the AX1200 Gold PSU then what c-attack posted would be the correct cable. You aren't guaranteed that the cable from Ebay is the correct cable or that it wouldn't damage your GPU you are plugging it into so I would refrain from using it completely.
