montyfacker
I just built a system and I'm getting Q-Code 55 (no memory installed). I tried memok, no luck. Tried 1 - 2 - 4 dimms in different configurations. Is my ram just not compatible at all? Thought it would atleast post after memok, but it wont. montyfacker
If I just made a plain mistake, can someone refer a different corsair product that will "max" out my performance.
peanutz94
The RAM is compatible, however you may not be able to run them at 2400mhz. Thats an awful high overclock for that CPU. Mem OK should set them to defaults which would be 1333mhz and should at least post at that frequency. I would make sure you have the latest BIOS for your MB. If after you flash the BIOS and you still get that error, i would contact ASUS and explain this to them. Sounds like you have a bad MB

montyfacker
@peanutz94 How much oc do you think I need for running them at 2400mhz? Im currently making my pc into somewhat of a watercooling project with a 360rad.
peanutz94
Really there is just no way to know until you try. You might get lucky and they boot right up at 2400mhz with the XMP profile. Just keep in mind that if you decide to overclock the CPU side of things your memory frequency may have to be lowered to compensate.. You will get a much bigger bang for your buck with a higher CPU OC than you would with a higher memory OC.
montyfacker
The ram aint supported, I just tested with one single tri channel dimm (2GB 1600 *edit* ********) from my old X58 system. montyfacker
Scratch the last one, I managed to get the new ram going after I played around in the bios. The ram is supported but probably not optimal. If any mods want to, they can delete my last post. Dont want anyone to misundestand it and take it as slander.
