makd
Hi, Has anyone used or is using Corsair TW3X4G1600C9D G with Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 motherboard. I have ordered the RAM and will buy the motherboard soon. Should I change the RAM or will it work with the boar? I checked the asus website specs but it doesn't mention this model of RAM. I checked the Corsair website and the the M4A88 series motherboards are not listed. Any help/info is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

makd
Hi RAM GUY, I bought 2 sets of TW3X4G1600C9D RAMs and have installed it on the motherboard mentioned (Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. I have the following issue. Whenever I cold boot the machine, it crashes on windows loading(after the starting windows message where it says please wait. Win7 64 bit). It crashes about 8-10 times until one of the reboots goes through fine. After that it works fine, with heavy load, and even multiple reboots. But after I shut it down for about 8 hours and do a cold boot again, it crashes on boot. I have checked up on this in other forums and it seems that it is a motherboard/RAM incompatibility. Also I have 4 sticks of the mentioned RAM Out of the 4 sticks one is failing memtest86+ version 4.10 I bought the sticks from US, and I tried to RMA them in India. Kaizen India says that they do not do RMA for products bought in USA. So, I have the following questions please. 1) Is Kaizen right to deny my RMA? Do I have any other options? 2) On the RMA page on Corsair website, how do I request for another model of RAM and not just a replacementa for the same model to replace damaged one, as I would now prefer to go with a Corsair RAM which is mentioned in the QVL list of the motherboard manual.(The ones I have now are not mentioned in the QVL list.) 3) Any other suggestions/options? Thanks for your help.
Wired
1) As they stated Kaizen only does RMAs for Corsair items bought within India. You can always RMA to Corsair directly. They have 3 RMA depots worldwide. Link's on the left. 2) Through the RMA form on the left, HOWEVER, the warranty states like for like, so there's no guarantee they'd do what you're asking. 3) It's never recommended to mix kits. makd
Right, I meant get all sticks changed and either pay the difference or get a small refund.
makd
Alright, could you please help me with the RAM settings? I got the below form the link in RAM_GUYS signature but it seems wrong because my RAM is 1600 MHz and below it says 1333. Also my RAM is rated at 1.8 V but 1.6 mentioned below. The data sheet is of no help as well. Lastly, I saw another RAM which says it needs 1.9 V when running 4 sticks of 2 Gigs which otherwise needs 1.8V. Do I need to do the same since I have 4 sticks of 2 gigs? Thanks in advance Each pair is tested and packaged together using the following settings: Advanced Jumper Free AI Overclock: Manual CPU Control: AUTO FSB Frequency: 400 MHz PCIE Frequency: AUTO DRAM Frequency: DDR3-1333 MHz DRAM Timings Control: Manual CAS# Latency:___________9 RAS# to CAS# Delay:______9 RAS# Precharge:__________9 RAS# Activate to Precharge:24 DRAM Static Read Control: Disabled DRAM Dynamic Write Control: Disabled CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled CPU Voltage:__________1.4500V CPU PLL Voltage:_______1.6V DRAM Voltage:_________1.6V FSB Termination Voltage:_1.3V North Bridge Voltage:____1.55V All settings not listed should be left at AUTO or BIOS Default Maximum DDR3 recommended VDIMM: 2.00 Volts
