Building
I have a 1tb seagate HDD. I’m unsure which way to mount it, with the PCB facing outwards or with the metal shroud/label side? Also do I put the 4 little metal post things inside the hard drive or just slide the HDD under them (if I do it this way I can on,y have the label side up). Thanks! At the moment I have it PCB side showing but there’s a little bit of room between the label part and the 3.5” drive tray. I also put the metal post things inside the HDD
snapper69
The little posts are meant to go into the holes on the side of the drive, where the screws would normlly go. I don't think that it really matters which way you have the drive, as long as you can get at the cables.
Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted December 6, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 6, 2017 snapper is right, orientation doesn't really matter as long that you can access your data sata and power molex/sata cable. Personally, I'd have the ports on the bottom when mounting the drive. I think its easier that way for cable management,
