ApokalipseMeow
I have an AX850 PSU and I like how the SATA/molex cables use ribbon style cables. But the ATX/EPS/PCI-E cables are just normal sleeved cables: http://www.overclock3d.net/gfx/articles/2010/06/22122919892l.jpg So I was wondering whether it's possible to buy some ribbon cable by itself, without connectors, so I could make my own ATX/PCI-E/EPS cables instead of using the normal 'sleeved' style. So far this sort of cable seems pretty elusive. I know IDE cables are not appropriate, because they won't carry enough current

ApokalipseMeow
Can you say who actually manufactures the ribbon style cables used for the molex/sata cables?
peanutz94
Take one of your cables to a good electrical supply house. The ones that supply electricians with their material. Some wont sell to the public, but there are others that will. If they dont have it in stock they can usually get their hands on it somewhere. Just make sure it is the same gauge. You can also buy new pins for the ends of your cables from frozencpu.com as well as the connectors.
ApokalipseMeow
Yeah, the pins/connectors aren't a problem to get. It's the wire I'm after. It needs to be 18 AWG, preferrably 12 conductor and black. IDE cables use 28 AWG (which is smaller than 18 AWG, about 1/10th the cross sectional area) Also, I live in Australia. So it's also much less likely to be available at stores I can walk into.
