boeing253
Hi Folks, I got a new SSD today and installed onto 1 of the SSD Brackets on the back of the case and found the SATA Power cable is only just long enough to reach my 2nd SSD. I thought I would move the SSD onto 1 of the 3.5" drive bays but ran into a problem. Where the SSD mounting screw holes are, there is just 1 mounting pin for the 3.5" in the way so I can't mount the SSD. Can you remove the pin that is there (normally for 3.5" drive), so that I can mount my SSD? I thought it was just going to be a simple as screwing it in, but not the case. Many thanks in advance. snapper69
If the pin is anything like the ones on the 900D, you should be able to remove it by pushing it from the outside. If not you could buy a SATA power extender or splitter, which would give you the extra lenth that you need.
Corsair Blake
Yes, you can simply push it out with a screwdriver or something small. It'll pop right out and make sure you put it away somewhere secure for safe keeping, in case you want to install a 3.5" drive in the future. Thanks very much for your reply, works a treat just pushed the pin and rubber piece through from outside and it popped out. SSD now mounted on HDD caddy.
