Tensi
Earlier today I tried to update my SSD P128 VBM18C1Q to firmware 2.0 for w7 64bit TRIM support, I used the instructions on <LINK REMOVED> for creating the USB boot drive and created a backup of the computer. But when I went to run the update I get the msg that my SSD isn't supported. Haven't been able to figure out why, any info would be appreciated... thanks! Wired
What version do you have? Did you use the right updater?
Tensi
I believe the USB boot drive was of windows 98, and I formatted it into FAT32 and expanded the DSRD file that RAM Guy posted. And the version of the updated was 2.0. Is that what you meant by version? Oh, the link was removed lol. I used the windows based USB disk format Tool, and Installed the Windows 98 system files to make it a Boot drive. Also, it read the SSD drive as "IDE: Corsair". Not sure if that makes a difference. And help is greatly appreciated, thanks! http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv85/Tensi1/Untitled.png

Tensi
That's what I thought I did (lol), unless windows 98 boot drive isnt the same as dos 6.22 or 7. I'm a pretty big noob at this stuff.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 14, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 14, 2010 WIn98SE Boot files should be used for this update. The firmware is not showing that it has been updated. What is the errors message you get when you try to run the update?
Tensi
figured out the problem... When i got the SSD I had a craigslist tech come and install it, and he connected it to an E-SATA port. So i just had to rewire and connect it to a SATA and change the bios to run it outside of IDE mode. Firmware update worked and now the SSD went from an index score of 6.3 to 7.3 (lol). Thanks for the help. I should of looked at how it was routed from the start when I realized the crystaldisk was giving odd info http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv85/Tensi1/Untitled-1.png
