kenn
Hi, I have just bought a 6GB kit of the Corsair Dominator (part #CMP6GX3M3A1600C7) and an Asus P6X58D-E motherboard. The BIOS auto detects that the RAMs are @1066 instead of @1600 CL7-8-7-20. Please advise how to set the BIOS in order that the RAMs will run @1600 at CL7-8-7-20; and what are the values of other settings in the BIOS? Thanks in advance. Synthohol
set the ram voltage according to the sticker (or cpu-z) for the 1600 profile, then enable X.M.P. profile. it may be listed as ASUS OC profile. good luck.
kenn
set the ram voltage according to the sticker (or cpu-z) for the 1600 profile, then enable X.M.P. profile. it may be listed as ASUS OC profile. good luck. Thanks. I have activated XMP in BIOS, which immediately detected the CL value of 7-8-7-20. CPU-Z shows the DRAM frequency at 801 MHz with FSB:DRAM ratio at 2:12 running at 7-8-7-20-88 2T. Yet, the Core speed is only 1603 MHz (though i7 930 should run at 2.8 GHz), multiplier is 12, bus spped at 133.h MHz and QPI Link at 3207.2 MHz. What is wrong? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted May 27, 2010 Corsair Employee Share Posted May 27, 2010 You probably have speed stepping enabled which will lower the cpu clock when not in use.
