9Tek
Hi All, Apologies if this question has been asked before. I have a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler I am thinking of purchasing some 2133 RAM for a Z77 build and was wondering if I remove the heatsinks/spreaders will this affect the RAM and void the warranty. Thanks in advance, 9Tek
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 28, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 28, 2012 Yes the heat spreaders should not be removed especially on our Dominator/DHX line of modules it will damage the module and VOID the warranty. Synthohol
9Tek, did you mean the fins? not the spreaders?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 29, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 29, 2012 Good point Synthohol the fins can be removed on Dominator modules but not the heat spreader.
9Tek
Hi, Yes, I think I mean the fins, the plastic strip across the top. Please see the link below: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=faqs&step=2&lng=de&products_id=34#14 There are 3 screws/bolts that I think can be undone. Synthohol
bingo!! yes you can BUT i would suggest some serious airflow through the case!

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 2, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 2, 2012 What is the make and model of MB?
9Tek
Hi Ram Guy, The make of MB I'm likely to purchase is the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H, I have a Noctua NH-D14 cooler and this is why I would like the RAM to have a low profile. Thanks in advance, 9Tek
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 3, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 3, 2012 Well I only see some information from some of the review sites and Gigabyte does not have the MB listed where I can get the full spec so you may have to wait till it is closer to full launch. But I would expect it to support any of our Vengeance modules based on what I have found.
9Tek
Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes I will wait and see what the full specs are amd take it from there. Thanks, 9Tek
