blue whale
I just started sleeving the 24-pin power cable and lost track of which pin slot should remain empty. It is the 18-pin connector on the other side of the cable with which I need help. I don't know if the top or bottom pin slot in the 7th row should stay open. I appreciate any help someone could give. -Michael
Wired
Check the ATX spec on Wikipedia. The -5v line is empty.
blue whale
Wired, Thanks for the quick reply. I am currently looking over the Wikipedia page. I see the diagram for the 24-pin connector. However, the other end of the Corsair cable splits into a 10-pin and 18-pin connector. I don't see any reference to these types of connectors. Am I missing something?
Wired
Oh, the end that goes into the PSU? Proprietary. No idea.
blue whale
I found the answer. I did an image search. On youtube, some guy does an unboxing of the AX850 and waves around the cable. I was able to make out the pins at the end of the cable. It is the #7 pin slot which is empty and does not take a pin. The #16 slot, beneath it, takes the pin.
