Cha0sBreaker
Hello! 2 years ago, I bought myself a regular k70 rgb keyboard. After some months of use, some keys stopped showing the right colors, so I went with my reseller and they changed it for a k70 lux rgb. Now, after some months of use it happened again. One of my keys (right windows) wont show green and instead it bleeds the color to other keys (red and blue works fine).I Then, of course, went to the forums and in the Unofficial FAQ and Quick Fix Guide found that I should submit a ticket asking for a hard reset. I went through the process of getting my ticket recognized and I got an RMA approved...I cant RMA the keyboard since Corsair expects me to send it to United States and pay for the shipping, so I asked if I could try a hard reset first...and they sent me a link with a gif showing me how to go to the CUE and click force firmware... Of course this was one of the firsts things I've tried and there I gave up with the ticket system. My question is, Is there any way I can get the firmware file by myself? Does this happens to everyone or its just me? Since it happened in two different keyboards overtime on a different set of keys. So far my best hope was to wait for a 2.06 firmware release and see if that would "repair" the broken key. Thanks!
Awpii
Disgracefully, this is a common issue (at least with K70 Keyboards) It happened to me as well and I'm having to use a faulty keyboard since Corsair expects me to RMA it by sending it to the US, some leds are faulty, others are displaying incorrect colors, I've tried several things (Even contacted Corsair support and they helped me roll back the keyboard to older firmware versions and such, they determined the keyboard itself is faulty (a bit weird considering I've had the same issue in the past with other Corsair keyboards). I'm sorry that you're going trough this, I myself have given up with Corsair and will just buy a different brand's keyboard when this one is done for good, really dissapointing. Cha0sBreaker
Thanks for your response...I guess i'll just stick with the keyboard as it is. Wonder if its only a k70 issue
Corsair Employee Greybeard Posted June 26, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 26, 2017 @Cha0s, Sorry to hear that. We've run into this particular issue from time to time, but we've never had situation where this issue is more prominent on one model than the other. It's totally random based on a small sample size that we have gathered. In your OP, I'm wondering if you tried the hard FW reset already. I would suggest that first before flashing the KB's FW with the latest version. If you didn't get the instruction on hard reset, let me know so I can have one of our tech specialist reply to your ticket.
Cha0sBreaker
Thanks for your response! I wouldn't be sure about the hard reset since I thought the hard reset was the flashing process. I've tried the esc key reset, forcing the firmware from CUE, and resetting the keyboard with the button in the back. If none of this methods is the hard reset, then I guess I have not tried it yet! Cha0sBreaker
Sorry to bump this but I still have the problem and I come back to the forums time to time to see if theres any fix or any information on this regard. I still have not recieved any kind of instructions on how to hard reset to test that out. Anyone have any clue on this?
Toasted
The hard reset instructions can only be obtained via a support ticket. You will need to submit a support ticket to Corsair for instructions. https://support.corsair.com/
