Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 29, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 29, 2012 I am sorry but the modules we are producing now may not be compatible there is only one way to know. And if they are version x.x they should work but if they are version x.xx they may not work because if the density of the IC we are using now. Xionas
Thanks for your reply. So if I understand correctly the 2 kits I linked will not work with my ASUS P5Q3 since they are recently produced and are of a x.xx version. Furthermore, I would like you to suggest me a stable 8GB kit/combination I can order which will be compatible with my MoBo (version x.x I suppose). I plan to use my desktop for web applications/gaming so good frequency/CAS latency values would be prefered. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 3, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 3, 2012 I am sorry the only thing I can suggest would be to contact the MB manufacturer and see if they can suggest memory that would work.
Xionas
I have followed your suggestion so I will report back once I get a reply by ASUS. I would like you to inform me please how I can distinguish a version x.x from a version x.xx ram module made by Corsair when looking up the specs+model name at Corsair (or at an online retail) website. Vendors don't publish version info. They buy in bulk which means that they get various versions (note that any version can be made at any time, and multiple versions are made at the same time).
