Moving from Razer to Corsair for MacOS support - worth it?
davidbdeath replied to Licklick's topic in iCUE for macOS
iCUE for Mac OS is missing important feature that make it useless. For example you can't map modifier keys to the thumb pad on the scimitar mice or side buttons on the harpoon. They have just enough so they can claim they support Mac OS and that's about it. -
i've gone as far as editing the xml for a profile with a text editor and that doesn't work either. Now iCUE crashing because my hardware profiles have modifiers mapped.

Scimitar RBG ELITE (NOT Pro) compatible with mac OS?
davidbdeath replied to Guacuhmole's topic in iCUE for macOS
I have the Scimitar Pro and Elite, iCue basically treats them as the same mouse. Here is the issue, if you use the mouse in Windows and save a hardware profile to the mouse, and the profile has a function that does not work on the Mac version of iCue. iCUE will crash every time it launches.- 2 replies

iCUE (MacOS) Now Available as Open Beta!
davidbdeath replied to Corsair James's topic in CORSAIR iCUE
Jigs Gaton try typing in bash before inputing the command. Just incase you don't know <enter> isn't part of the command. You just hit it after pasting in defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true I think if you want to see the current status of the preference, use this. defaults read -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -
If I remember correctly Steve and GamersNexus showed that iCUE uses enough resources to hurt gaming performance. In Windows I set iCUE to run on my iGPU instead of my Nvidia card.

I suspect Corsair only added basic Mac OS support for marketing purposes. You can do what Mr. Spock said or you can also use CKB-Next it has more functionality than iCUE for Mac OS. Corsair can't seem to figure out how to add "Modifiers & Lock Keys" for Mac OS.

I switched back to ckb-next since I can’t use icue with my scimitar elite mouse. Uses a lot less CPU as well and allows modifier keys. -
iCue 3.33.246 and 3.32.80 crash when my scimitar RGB elite is connected to my Mac. Mac OS version macOS 10.15.6 (19G2021)

Can´t find "Modifiers & Lock Keys" menu point
davidbdeath replied to zutim13's topic in iCUE for macOS
The Mac OS version doesn't have it. If you want to deal with opensource software CKB-Next has it. -
Why doesn't iCUE not support mapping modifier keys to to buttons on the scimitar pro and harpoon mice? It works with CKB Next, Better Touch Tools and with iCUE on Windows. Mapping of modifiers doesn't work standalone (no option in menu), in Macros if no other buttons are mapped or as a keystroke.

Don't update iCUE if you still on High Sierra. who released the update made it incompatible with High Sierra while not including a check to prevent an update to an incompatible version.

Have you tried downloading it again? Somehow the image you downloaded was corrupted. -

On the newer versions of Mac OS you may not have the the Anywhere option. The only way i know to enable apps from anywhere in that case is with this terminal command. sudo spctl --master-disable
