ben23
I want to buy the water cooler, but I purchased the level 10 thermal case which blows air out in the back, or at least is designed to do so. If I configure the corsair fan to blow air out of the back would the cooler still be efficient/ worth buying in keeping my cpu cooler than lets say a after product air cooler? That is, in the videos it was noted constantly that cool air should be pulled from the outside into the box, but thermal level 10 case was made to push air out through the back, any suggestions would be appreciated. campbelln97
just about all cases have been designed to push air out of the back. mine was. i use my h50 to push air out the back.
joytech22
the H50 will work fine if the case is properly cooled, but temps will be slightly warmer blowing air out than with the fan sucking air.
dctokyo
the H50 will work fine if the case is properly cooled, but temps will be slightly warmer blowing air out than with the fan sucking air. Not in all cases, if your using the Raven 02 or the FT02 case then the air blowing out is better.
SeanG
I hope the H50 fits in that case because I watched a video about that case and the motherboard tray looked to have a 140 mm fan?
GAMERIG
I just bored and thought why not i check asetek's blog. thats what I found, You can see here of pic: http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/1923/thermaltake20level20102.jpg Source link from asetek.com
campbelln97
i dnt like the idea of mounting the h50 like that, its sending hot air straight into the gfx card area, on full load it will just go bang. i guess thats why there are no temperature results in the review. Yellowbeard
The warm air going towards the GPUs won't be a big deal. Warm air rises. It will go straight up from the radiator. The GPUs pull their cool air in from the bottom anyway so there's no way in that configuration that warm air from the H50 will get pulled into the underside of the GPUs. Yellowbeard
OH MAN!!! I looked at the first picture wrong. I thought the radiator was well above the GPUs where it should be. I stand corrected. That is horrible placement. Thanks for the better pic ::pirate::
SeanG
I dont know why they didnt mount it on the rear fan? That the worst placement of a rad I ever saw.Whats even funnier is that the fan he has the radiator on is 140mm and he had to zip tie to it and the rear fan is 120mm and the radiator would of fit perfect. Is this guy on drugs?lol http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=834&type=expert&pid=
Wired
He chose to install the H50 in a way that kept the case airflow as intended: I could have mounted the H50 toward the rear of the case, utilizing the out-flow fan, but the H50 performs better with cooler, in-flowing air. Had I chosen the rear mounting position, the H50 would have fit nicely, and with out the need of zip-ties.
campbelln97
but i think we are agreed that, though he may have a valid reason for doing it, in this case you really should use it as a rear exhaust fan?
