old memory guarantee?

bit buyer

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was running Ubuntu on an old Gigabyte board with 2x1gb of Corsair XMS2 DDR2. It started to glitch and then crash - I ran a memtest and one of the sticks regularly produced the same set of errors.

These sticks were bought a fair time ago - they have a code 07430489 on them which, I think, means that they were made in Nov 2007, and I would have bought them from a supplier in early 2008.

Are they still under warranty? And if so, is it worth making a claim?

absolutely! Lifetime warranty!

only cost is shipping the bad ram back to them.

if it was a 2 gig kit you must send both sticks back to get a matched pair back.

you can ask for an advanced exchange where you get the new ram first but i have found in the past shipping is pretty quick once they get your old ram.

go ahead and apply for RMA, you need to setup an account separate from this one.

let us know how it works out :):
