Numb69
It's my first time building a computer and I would need some advices. Basically I got evga x58 classified with i7 920 and 2 sets of TR3X6G1600C8D G http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224&Tpk=20-145-224 I would like to run 12gb at 1600, so I would need help on how to OC and get my mobo to run these sticks at 1600. From what I read, I have two options. Running I7 920 at 4.0 Ghz or at 3.2 in order to get 1600mhz. Correct me if im wrong, but I can't run 3.6 Ghz, since the block speed will be 180mhz and that gives me 1440mhz for RAM (180x8=1440) For now I don't want to go till 4ghz, since im just starting... So my best option is: Base Clock 160 x 10=1600 wich gives me 160x20=3.2Ghz Correct me if i'm wrong, i still have some reading to do, so I would like to know if I'm going in the right direction...
