How to never lose your receipt.

some folks dont think about this, take a picture of the receipt with your phone and email it to yourself. this way if you ever lose the paper copy you still have a .jpg to include with your RMA if you need to file one years down the line.

 

i do this with everything in my wallet, both sides of credit cards, insurance papers etc. this way if you lose your wallet you know exactly what what needs to be replaced and the phone numbers to call and cancel/replace them.

Seriously tho this is a good idea which basically I use too,I take snap shots of everything and put it all on a drive on each of my 4 computers.

gmail seems to be forever until you delete and you can access it from anywhere.

i kinda cluster my photos, i have like 7 PCs and copy all new pics to all of them, yes its redundant but how many times have you had a HDD poop the bed and you LOSE everything unless you pay a place to swap your platters.

GMail, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive, CrashPlan, Carbonite, etc. Back it up somewhere.

Using online backup is the same as trusting a total stranger with your most sensitive data-not for me,I have virtually the same files on all 4 of my computers,it easily amounts to needing lots of storage space but worth it...

Then encrypt the data before you store it online. Then you're in charge of the security.

 

If all 4 of your PCs are in the same location, don't consider it backed up at all.
