AX-1200 not working!

Just got my AX-1299 from new egg. Box was fine but when I hooked up a fan to the PS and turn on the PS, nothing happens? What is the deal here?

did you use a jumper from the green wire to a black one? or just expected it to turn on with the toggle switch?

I will try the paper clip method but; yeah I expected the PS to turn on with the toggle switch; why would I not expect this to happen?

Couple of problems here, no green wire, they are all black, and this is a 24 pin connector.

because then the power button on the front of the case would be worthless.

and yellowbeard or any admin should update the pics in the thread i linked above.

but the video is correct even if the colors are all black the pin assignment is the same.

Ok, thank you for the new picture; it helps a lot when you are looking at the same thing. I tested the power supply and the PS works. I guess this is a load issue as the PS does not have a huge load at the moment.

the PSU always gets the power on signal from the motherboard to turn on.

when you press the power button on your case it completes a circuit on the motherboard that basically shorts the same 2 pins on the atx connector you did with a paper clip.

 

i just dont understand what load issue you mean??

Newer PSUs need a certain min load to power on.
