ArneAnd
Hi I've just gotten my hands on a set of Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2 DDR-DIMM 1024MB Kit w/two matched CMX512-3200C2 DIMMs and I'm gonna put them into my puter this weekend. What I wonder is wheter I can mix these 4 memorysticks and still be able to do some overclocking? My aim is to run my setup at 10-20% OC? Which settings should I try to achieve this? Help/hints/comments are much appreciated!
Yellowbeard
It's never a good idea to mix different memory brands or different types/revisions even of the same brand. You are mixing different ICs which can lead to instability or it may not even post. In some cases it will work but the only way to know is to try it. I would suggest manually setting the DIMM voltage to 2.8v and manually set your memory timings to 2.5,3,3,7 and using the latest bios. Mike.
