zashino
I really really like my new K70 RGB, especially with colourful profiles with rainbow burst etc. But i'm kinda concerned about the LEDs I mean you learn everywhere that constantly switching lights on and off will wear them down quite fast. But you also hear that LEDs endure wayyy more than a normal lightbulb but the controller behind it doesnt. So basically my question is: If I use profiles like the classic rainbow wave all the time, do i have to expect early LED failure due to the constant colour change? I hope someone can diffuse my concerns. thanks, zashino
ArtGranda
I've seen estimates for similar surface-mount RGB LEDs between 50,000 and 80,000 hours.
CalcProgrammer1
LEDs aren't stressed by continuous on/off cycles like traditional bulbs are. If so, the whole control scheme behind this setup would destroy them quickly. The LED brightness is controlled by quickly toggling the LEDs on and off hundreds of times per second. Bulbs wear out due to heating and cooling of the filament stressing it. LEDs produce only an insignificant amount of heat, especially low power ones like used in the keyboard.
