  1. thanks for that, i have notified them, the more people that report it to him the bigger chance we have of him investigating it, could everyone please drop him a note on the email address on this page. thanks all
  2. i am considering asking gamers nexus if would like to investigate this, this seems to be the sort of thing he likes doing at the moment. Anyone know him or have contact with him want to let him know, i am not sure how to contact him, of course I could find out, but if someone already knows him or has his details, then be easier if you let him know about this **** show from corsair.
  3. i got my unit replaced, worked for a few days then red triangle again with no changes to software or hardware as i wasnt even here for there to be, i was out of town and left my pc on. When i spoke to corsair and they started asking me the usual questions, i pointed them to this post and as soon as they read it they approved the RMA, however in my experience that wont fix it, either the units are completely faulty and will need to be recalled, or as one corsair support person mentioned on here, they appear to have found a fix in a firmware update, that is currently being tested. They said that some time ago now, and as a software professional, I know it doesnt take that long to test stuff, so either it didnt work as well as they thought or they havent really found a fix and are just fobbing us off.
  4. wish i could edit this post, cos i did not return to it on tuesday, i returned to it today which is sunday....
  5. ok so here is my update after getting the RMA unit, installed it and it worked, i then left for the weekend on Thursday and returned today (Tuesday), my PC was on the whole time. When I returned, the LCD was flashing from Red Triangle to Proper display, so i rebooted my PC, its just came back on and its stuck on the red triangle again GRRRRR
  6. My update I received a new LCD upgrade today via RMA and low and behold just swapping that out, it worked, I had assumed it was the commander core that had busted, given the other comments on here, however for me that was not the case, it will be very interesting to see how long the replacement LCD lasts before it experiences the same issue. Hopefully the new firmware is released before this happens to me and fully prevents it happening in future. If @Corsair Albertwants me to test the new firmware (I am a professional software tester with over 30 years of experience) please contact me directly and I would be happy to try it out (providing there is no risk of bricking anything).
  7. if you have a spare commander core, try plugging a second one in and putting your LCD only into the new one, see if that works. For those that have had a spare one this seems to have worked for them. I am currently waiting on an RMA LCD, I have asked corsair to also send me a replacement core, however they have not confirmed that this is what they are doing, so no idea if they will or not.
  8. when are we going to get someone from corsair support back here giving us an update on their investigations and findings, that's what i would like to know.
  9. yeah i would be the same, if i had a second commander core, i would just run the two have one dedicated to just the LCD and other to the fans. I do not think its the LCD or the AIO that is getting the problems, i truly believe the commander core is failing somehow, either the LCD screen is trying to pull more juice than the core can handle or there is some other issue in the software implementation that is causing this. Hard to tell with the limite knowledge and equipment i have, this really needs someone like Gamers Nexus to look at, see if he can't get to the bottom of it.
  10. the UK ebay has some, i seen them the other day, the commander core (non xt). but i refuse to pay another £40-£60 for something that should just work I am in contact with conrsair support and they want to RMA my LCD, however i emailed them back with my thoughts and pointed them to this post in the hope that they just send me a new commander core so i can try that first.
  11. I think you can get them on ebay, in the UK ebay sell them for about £40-£60, which is quite expensive.
  12. from what I can tell from reading all these posts, the commander core gradually gives up, and when it finally does the people that have replaced the core get it working again. I have a feeling that the LCD screen is pulling too much power through the core when it has fans etc all plugged in as well, when you give it its own core it appears to work. I do not have a spare core to try this for myself, however if you read all the posts those people that have tried this seem to have success.
  13. think I am going to try what you suggest over the weekend. Corsair have given me an RMA for the upgrade LCD, however since they only provide an LCD and not a new Com Core, I fear it will be the same issue, as I do think the Core is the issue here, I just dont think it can handle the LCD unit as well as it does just the RGB. I don't think I have a spare Com Core though, I will need to look through all my spare parts. Not sure what to do if not, as they don't sell the Com Core on its own.
  14. I had this same issue for over 2 months, every time it happened, I followed the instructions and a different one would fix it, fast forward to now and none of the tips works and corsair and looking at doing an RMA for me
  15. I wonder if the commander core (the original one) was connected to the rear usb 3 and the new one taken out the picture if that would work.
  16. not sure if it is the same in other countries, but in the UK these devices are no longer available in the store. might just be that they have sold out, but not a single AIO or upgrade kit is available anymore. seems like this could be a hardware fault, i just wish corsair would provide a bit more info on what the issue is.
  17. I too am having this issue, I bought the upgrade kit and since buying it I have been following the possible workarounds in this post and every time it fails, its one of the other workarounds that fixes, however this time nothing seems to be fixing it. I have have the triangle in the LCD and the device has gone from iCue, with only the commander showing, have tried every step mentioned here including force upgrading the firmware (multiple times), differnet USB ports, powering off and back on, new bios, remove recent windows updates, reseating all the related components and cables. Can corsair reply with when they expect a perm fix for this to be available please.
