Turns out it required 4.x of iCue. So the update check doesn't work. I had to navigate to the website.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same problem. I have iCUE 3.38.61. When I click "Check For Update" it ways "You are using the latest version of the application." I'm typing on the keyboard now (so it's connected and recognized by the OS). And I did record a macro in hardware mode. I have restarted the services, killed processes and restarted my HP i7-7500 laptop (Intel HD Graphics 620).
