Nooradin
I am currently using a H80i in corsair link with two Noctua NF-F12 PWM fans. The issue is that one of them is not recognized as a fully pwm fan and only a 3 pin, whereas the other one is recongized as a PWM fan and is allowing me to set the correct RPMs but the other one that is incorrectly shown as 3 pin will not go lower than 1000rpm. It was software related, after unintalling evrything it was finally recongised as 4 pin but now the fans wont spin at all and the h80i is not recognised in link and all there is a red LED, and on Boot I get the CPU Fan error which I did not used to get. I tried going back on the firmware from 1.0.7 to 1.0.5 has I was having issues with 1.0.7 but there were errors when trying to do so and it also crashed at the end when it successfully did so and then it began this. I think I may have bricked it but i'm unsure, is there any way to recover this? UPDATE - Switching the SATA power to the h80i the fans have starting to spin now (at their set custom rpms) but the h80i is not being recognised in corsair link at all and i am unsure if the pump is on. The LED is now flashing red and still getting CPU Fan Error on boot. UPDATE 2 - Temperatures are all normal and pump and fan are working as wanted but I am still recieving a CPU Fan Error on boot and also the LED on the pump is flashing red. I have completely uninstall corsair link and the drivers and reinstalled and it still isn't being recognised.
snfo
Hare you sure that it is not a fan problem?
Nooradin
100% sure, I've tested it on the motherboard PWM plugs and I have full pwm control of the fan, only when connected to the corsair link cable that connects to the h80i hub showing up as a 3 pin fan
Toasted
Have you tried switching the fan connectors for the fans or the Y-Splitter to the other port?
Nooradin
I have and the port broke which is kinda flimsy for a port because all I did was remove it. I've switched them at the splitter and now it doesn't show the rpm at all in Corsair Link.
Toasted
So the two ports on the H80i are broken?
Nooradin
Only 1 port that I had it connected to first, the second port is working fine but it will always recongise the second fan fan connecter as a 3-pin and first fan connector will always recognise 3 pin and 4 pin fans correctly. Toasted
Does it do the same when the other fan that is detected as a 4-pin on the first one change to 3-pin when connected to the second one? If yes, The Y-splitter cable may be bad. Request an RMA and ask for a replacement Y-Splitter cable.
Nooradin
I have a second Y-Splitter and tested it out, and it has done the same thing. The Fan 1 Connecter on the splitter will always show up as 3 pin no matter what fan is connected. Maybe its software related?
Toasted
You can try a different version of the LINK software to make sure its not software related. You can also try a firmware update as well.
Figure
Make sure no pins on the broken connector are crossed and that the connection between the y-cable and the pump is clean.
Nooradin
On both y splitters nothing is wrong with them, all the conductors are were they should be. I have updated the firmware and Fan 1 is still showing up as 3 Pin. I am currently using the Low Noise Adaptor to achieve RPMs below 1000 (i'm really obsessed with silence) but it would be nice to not have to use it and have full PWM control of my fans. It doesn't seem to be anything hardware related.
Nooradin
I connected the stock 3-PIN fan to the Fan 1 Connector and i have full control of it however with the noctua PWM 4-PIN fan it only allows it to go down to 1100rpm and is recongnized as 3 pin. Toasted
Its possible the firmware on the H80i has gone bad. If you can get it to recognised (Trying a mini USB B to Type A cable, different ports, etc) see if you can reflash the firmware. If not, request an RMA to replace it. Nooradin
Yeah the firmware has gone bad is it still possible to request RMA even after 5 months?
Nooradin
Tried different cable/ports not working, I think the firmware has bricked. I will attempt to request an RMA
Nooradin
Is there any possible way to hard reset the firmware?
Toasted
Yes, you can request an RMA to replace the H80i. No, you cannot reset the firmware.
