carsonbm
I cannot locate any mention on the Corsair website if their PSU can be used with the SLI or Crossfire. Please help.
peanutz94
Umm , what PSU? And What GPU's. Just about any of their PSu will handle and are certified for both.
carsonbm
will be using the Corsair 1200i and the Gigabyte GA-Z87Z-UD5H motherboard.
jlhawn
yes the AX1200i is sli and crossfire ready as is most of Corsair psu, but being sli and crossfire ready also depends on the psu itself as some of the lower wattage and lower amp psu would not be able to run sli or crossfire. the AX series will. here is a link with better specs on the AX1200i and it shows sli and crossfire ready. I too wish Corsair would provide better specs on their site. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139039

Not entirely true...this will be heavily dependant on the GPU's used. Low power cards will be able to run sli or cross fire on 600w+ I know there are actually people using sli 9800gt's still in sli and running them on a 500w PSU *shrugs* But ,yesh, your choice of GPU will be the largest factor. But all of Corsairs PSU will be using the Corsair 1200i and the Gigabyte GA-Z87Z-UD5H motherboard. Depending on your exact system config , you should be able to ru three GPU's with the 1200i
jlhawn
you are correct peanutz, I just never think about any graphics card older than a 500 series anymore, but I have seen a Corsair 750w run 2 GTX 280's, might have been pushing it but it worked for the guy, even though Nvidia say's a minimum of 550w for just one. WesternDreaming
I cannot locate any mention on the Corsair website if their PSU can be used with the SLI or Crossfire. Please help. the 1200i's can run any dual card option out there at any OC you want as long as you have your mobo plugged in also it can handle triple 680's on stock speeds it will be able run any single card/dual GPU setup at any OC you want with room to breath if you are going for a triple or quad card setup, i suggest you buy a second psu just for those if you are planning to OC

Yeah, i know what you man. But those ratings are total system ratings for the PSU requirements. But you can look up just about any card out there and find out what JUST the card uses to figure your total power needs. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=84309
carsonbm
I think it stinks that Corsair doesn't give more specs. on there PSU's. I will buy another brand.
peanutz94
That's up to you, but i'm not sure what more "specs" they can provide. It's up to the end user to decide or calculate your system needs.
carsonbm
In my opinion Corsair should post all the specs., it not up to the customer to try and figure them out. You tell me if it is possible to figure out if a PSU will wok within SLI or Crossfire.
carsonbm
Has anyone one built a Intell. socket 1150 mother board with a PSU that is 1150 socket ready and will do SLI or Crossfire. I am looking for a PSU that advertises that it is ready for both, 1200 watt or higher. I would appreciate any help.

peanutz94
You tell me if it is possible to figure out if a PSU will wok within SLI or Crossfire. Yes, i can. You calculate the wattage you need for both cards and if you have a PSU that is large enough and has the amount of connectors you need it will run either. It doesn't HAVE to have the certification to run either of them. As long as the PSU has enough wattage to meet your needs and has the proper amount of connectors is all that matters. There is no difference between a PSU that has the SLI/Xfire branding vs one that does not. My brother is running two 9800GTX's on a cheap bestbuy PSU just fine. And he even had to add pigtail adpters to get enough PCI connectors. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?166143-SLI-vs.-Crossfire-certification http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/250394-28-ready-crossfire-ready-psus-thing-what http://www.10stripe.com/featured/quick/sli-crossfire.php
peanutz94
carsonbm, this was addressed on your other thread. Please don't keep starting new threads for the same question. Any of Corsairs PSU's are SLI/Xfire ready Haswell ready PSU's http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=118456 You could also use the PSU finder for your needs. All this information was right in the sticks on the main page http://www.corsair.com/us/learn_n_explore/?psu=yes
