Dr.Galactus
Ahoy Just (correctly) installed an H80i; fired it up and all the lights come on and the fans spin up but it isn't pumping water round. I can hear the pump spins up and it reports a speed of 2.4k~RPM but the rad/pipes stay cold while the cpu temp rapidly rises until it hits the thermal cut off. Presuming it's a return to shop/RMA job but though I'd post on here to check, any ideas?
peanutz94
Just to be sure, i would remount the cooling head and inspect it to be sure the paste spread out the way it should. But if it looks untouched try reinstalling it.. The rad and tubes may still be cool even when operating correctly. Just wondering if it's not touching the CPU all the way. Dr.Galactus
Remounted it a few times; paste is evenly spread every time. <edit> the waterblock heats up so it's definitely transferring the heat, it's just that the hot water in the block then isn't going anywhere :(
peanutz94
Yeah, i would go ahead and return it to your shop first. And if they wont help or are unwilling to, then proceed with an RMA.
