computerguy312
I was considering getting Vengeance (2 x 4 GB) CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 package x 3 (24GB worth of it) for my Gigabyte X58A-UD3R (rev 2.0) motherboard. A few questions: 1) What is the out of the box timings? 1333 or 1600? What will I see after installing it without touching the BIOS? 2) If it does default to 1333, as some have suggested, is it safe to put it at 1600? Has it been tested for this kind of chipset and speed. 3) Will it run at 1.5V at 1600, or will I need to increase voltage? In short, what are the correct timings for this memory on this CPU to run at 1600. I've heard reports of instability at 1600, so I'm a bit concerned. peanutz94
Without touching the BIOS they will register at 1333mhz until you enable the XMP profile in your BIOS Yes 1600mhz is safe and yes they will run at 1600mhz at 1.5v.
