Ewe Kidding me
Corsair 512MB DDR 400MHz/PC3200 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL2.5 I bought two of these memory sticks a few years back. I never really inspected the memory visually, I just installed it into a Gigabyte Mobo and it all seemed to work fine. The computer these memory sticks were installed in was replaced the other day and I decided to fit these into one of the other kids computers ( Abit AV8 3rd Eye ) to give them 2 gig ( its already got 1 gig installed ). After installation the computer registered 1.5 gig, even after putting the ram into different slots it only registered and extra 512 mb ?. I took the ram out and noticed only one side is populated with chips ( Single bank - vs Double bank ??? ). I checked the Abit AV8 mobo instructions and am wondering if these would be classed as a non matched pair and thats the problem. I'm a bit miffed because I bought these sticks together at the same time Any ideas ? Many thanks :)
Wired
Put in one stick at a time. I'd wager both are detected as 1 GB sticks individually.
Ewe Kidding me
Put in one stick at a time. I'd wager both are detected as 1 GB sticks individually. One stick, 512 MB, two sticks, 512 MB. How much do I win ?
