leolair
I bought my 620HX on 1-5-07. Its in stalled in my case running a 2.8Ghz nothwood, 1G ram and a X1950 Video card. Up to this last week its been great. Then I started to experience some boot issues, so I checked my voltages under my bios settings and noticed my vcore voltage was lower than what it was set to run. I then used my multimeter to test the 12v and 5v output. To my surprise my 12 rail is running at 15v. Should this be that high? I would think thats in a danger zone. I tested on 2 separate rails as well. One from the motherboard and one from my fan plug. Thanks in advance for any input.
Kalim
Wow +15V is too high, I think thats an error for sure. At +12.6V-ish, your system is prone to being damaged and is unstable. Try checking a 4-pin Molex connector and see what you get then.
leolair
I did check the voltage on the molex plug, but the reason it was reading high was the battery in my multimeter was too low. I installed another battery in my meter and my 3.3v 5v and 12v check fine. I am taking an educated guess now that my motherboard might be having problems controlling the voltage to my cpu. Thanks for responding and I'll try to figure out more in the neear future, just glad that my psu is fine.
