OC TWIN2X2048-5400C4PRO @ 300FSB using 800MEM on P5WD2-E Prem

Recommended Posts

To Ram Guy, Wired or any other Admin or Mod,

I am currently overclocking

Intel 660, 3.6GHz @ 4.2GHz

@ 14x multi (not x18)

@ 300 FSB choosing a 800MHz Mem speed.

P5WD2-E Premium 975 chipset

2 GIG, TWIN2X2048-5400C4PRO

I am at 1.9V for the mem. @ 5-5-5-12

What is the recommended voltage at these settings?

From my understanding (and correct me if I am wrong) the range is 1.9V, 1.95V, 2.0V, 2.05V and 2.10V. However, I want the best voltage for OC at 5-5-5-12-2 as 1.9V is only advertised at 4-4-4-12.

To Ram Guy, Wired or any other Admin or Mod,

I have 1 more question. Why does the TWIN2X2048-5400C4PRO read PC5300 on the P5WD2-E Premium MB? I suspect this is the reason why it's so hard to get 1:1 timing even at default settings. I am not saying there is something wrong with the Mem as it passes the mem test with flying colors...call me crazy but it seems to run faster with this mem then with DDR1 mem. It just bothers me that it doesn't properly recognize this mem at PC5400 on boot up. No matter how I change it it will always read PC5400. Now when I installed PC6400 not only was it faster, but easier to OC and it read PC6400 on startup, first time I put them in. Is there a level of incompatibility with teh PC5400 and P5WD2-E Prem as it is harder to overclock with stability (using Prime95 fails within the 1st minute).
