Huff
I have recently bought a twin pack of VS512mb400 and I'm not entirely convinced its dual channel RAM. When I try to install in the 2 slots next to my current RAM I will either get the 1 gig of new RAM show up or the original 512mb depending on what slots the cards are in. So is this RAM dual channel and does it make a difference if my current RAM is low latency?
Wired
There is no such thing as Dual Channel memory, as this is a property of the memory controller in how it handles memory. This is why you can place memory in different slot configurations on a motherboard and it will register as single or dual channel. What are you mixing it with? Huff
I am mixing it with the Corsair XMS twinx 2x 256mb. Do I have to change settings in bios to make these modules work together? Or have I simply gone out and bought RAM that isn't compatible with my current modules?
Wired
Not compatible with each other.
