semola
Hi all, I need your advice to solve (or not have) a problem with 2 different model of memory mounted on the same machine. I have a PC with ASUS P8Z77-V LE Plus mainboard and i5-3470 processor. This PC PC uses 4x4Gb modules (for total 16Gb of a CML16GX3M4A1600C9 kit). Recently 1 of 4 modules has broken and I need to replace it with another module. I have found, from a friend, a CML4GX3M1A1600C9 module. I have noted that the version of the original kit is different from the single module (ver. 8.16 vs 5.21). Can I replace my broken module this? If yes, it's better to use different modules in the black slots or in the blue slots? I know that isn't a good custom merge different modules on a dual channel system. Corsair Employees Corsair Rick Posted December 7, 2018 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2018 Hello Semola, I would not recommend mixing memory modules as it can cause stability issues, but memory with the same speed, latency, and voltage will net your best chance of not having any stability issues. semola
Hi, thanks for your advice. I have tested more times 16 Gb of Memory (12Gb+4Gb) and I didn't have any problem. Semola
