methods
So when i turn my pc on, CUE will have issues, usually its that my lighting effects dont work, and when i try and go in to the software it just has a spinning circle on my cursor and i cant actually click to open the software up from my task bar. I can end process and reopen it and it still wont let me actually get in to the software. So i have to go in to add or remove programs, repair the software, and then restart to make it work. Now today i turned my computer on, and the lighting effects are working properly. But none of my side buttons on my scimitar work for me, and when i try to go to the software, same thing happens. just a spinning circle and i cant actually open it. This is really disappointing and tempting me to just return my k70 and scimitar since ive had nothing but issues with the CUE software.
Toasted
Upload the latest log generated by CUE as it may provide useful information. Toasted
CUE is having trouble communicating with the keyboard. Can you try the keyboard on another computer? Does it work fine or is the same issue still present? Have you tried a different USB port? Latest USB chipset drivers, Windows updates, UEFI/BIOS, etc? methods
I haven't tried any of that yet. So I'll try that tonight. Seems odd that it's having issues communicating with the keyboard but the mouse is what is having the most issues
methods
i have the most recent bios, and chipset/usb drivers. i was using just one single usb 3 port and not using the pass through cable, so i switched to using both of them in usb 2 to try that. Mouse is still in usb
Toasted
Does CUE still freeze when the keyboard is connected to the USB 2 port?
methods
The first and only time I've booted so far it didn't. But occasionally it would work fine before too
Toasted
Reset the firmware and see if that helps. Unplug the keyboard, Hold the ESC key down while plugging the keyboard back in. Are you able to test the keyboard on another computer?
methods
ive yet to reset the firmware, but i noticed with both keyboard plugs in usb 2 my computer takes a while to post, and once gave a no keyboard error and the keyboard never came on, had to unplug it and plug it back in
Toasted
Try the firmware reset and see whether that changes anything. If it doesn't, Put in a support ticket with Corsair and see whether they can suggest a fix e.g. hard reset. https://corsair.secure.force.com/
methods
I tried the firmware reset. It didn't seem like it really did anything. Should there have been any indication that something was done?
Toasted
The keyboard lighting will flash once when the firmware is reset. Have you submitted a support ticket to Corsair yet?
methods
I submitted a ticket. Would it be worth clean installing windows and starting fresh and trying again? My concern is it being my pc and not the keyboard.
Toasted
Are you able to test the keyboard on another computer? If so, Does the keyboard work fine? Doing a clean install of Windows can be time consuming so it's usually the last resort if it is a system specific issue.
methods
booted my pc today, and the ONLY issue is my macro keys on my mouse arent working. here are more logs2017-02-17T19-08-38.log2017-02-17T19-27-11.log
Toasted
Are you seeing the "Macro execution is unavailable" error? Can you try them in Notepad (If they are simple keystrokes) does it work fine?
methods
Not seeing any errors. They're just not working. One of them uses scroll lock so I can see on the keyboard if it's working or not. And it didn't work at all until I restarted my computer then it was fine
Toasted
I would assume the macro issue is random? e.g. does not occur at every restart/cold start? Do you have multiple profiles? Are they linked to any applications? If you do, CUE might not be on the profile which would be a reason why the macro would not work.
methods
I only had one profile. Which was also tied to the same lighting which works. I returned the mouse to the store and now all issues have gone away with the keyboard. Disappointing that bad software is the downfall of a good product. bassfu
Have the same problem with my Scimitar, works for a day or so then I have to reboot before macros work. I don't have any keyboard macros but I assume they would also be affected. Seems this latest version literally just removed the execution error message and didn't bother to fix the problem.
