Roomraider
I have a small fortune tied up in an Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI rig. AMD 64 FX-55 cpu, 2 74 gb raptor hdd's in raid 0 array, Gigabyte 3D Ultra cooler, 23" Sony SDM-P234 LCD 1920x1280 native, 2-2 X 512 registered/ecc Corsair twinx XMS3200R /CMX512RE-3200LLPT V2.1 mems for a total of 2 gigs From(ZIPZOOMFLY)filling all 4 slots, 680 w psu with an Nvidia 32 bit pci MX400 vid card just to check things out until my BFG 6800 gt oc pcie cards arrive. Sorry i just couldn't wait any longer just lookin @ this stuff sittin there. I cannot get a post to bios with all 4 slots filled(mem error). I removed 2 of the stix and left the other 2 installed 1 on channel 1 dimm 1 & 1 on channel 2 dimm 3 as this according to gigabyte is the only way dual channel will work with 2 slots occupied. Board then posts right to bios no prob accept it posts at 166MHz so I switch the remaining 2 mods & they post just as well @ 166 MHz. So i'm convinced there is no bad mem here, maybe a compatability issue with the mobo. Anyone having some expert expierience in this area Please Advise how to return for the proper memory or if there is something else that needs to be done. Wired
http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_GA-K8NXP-SLI.htm 939 boards don't support registered ECC memory. Talk to your reseller and swap it for CMX512-3200LLPT (no R or RE)
