ericmac
Here's the problem I have an E-machine T3256 with 512MB of RAM already and I bought a Corsair 512MB of RAM Doc #45-00025, installed it and just after boot up my computer locks up. Hers's what I have tried, took both sticks of RAM out and swapped slots, still locks up. Took the original RAM out and used the new Corsair RAM and it worked fine. Put the other stick back in and, you guessed it, locked up. What can I do? I have talked to the tech support from E-machines and they said all I have to do is buy a PC2700 compatible stick of RAM, which I thought I did, and no problems should happen. Wired
While all of the said modules may be compatible with the system, they may not be compatible with each other. It's not recommended to mix memory from different manufacturers because of possible issues like this.
