shadowane
I've been having problems for the past two weeks and it finally came to a head last night when my computer wouldn't even post. I called Chaintech and the tech support had me remove the second stick of ram and it now works perfectly. Before doing that, the computer would error during installs claiming it couldn't find a random file. It would also reboot randomly while working on it. After removing the ram stick, I got XP installed perfectly along with office and a game, neither of which would install before I removed the stick. I built the computer back in July and it has been running perfectly until now if that helps. My specs: The ram: Corsair VS1GBKIT400 1GB Kit DDR400 PC3200 CAS2.5 Value Select Memory 2x 512MB, DDR400, 64Mx64, Non-ECC, 184 DIMM, unbuffered, CAS2.5, 32Mx8 DRAMs AMD Athlon64 3200+ cpu Chaintech VNF3-250 motherboard, original bios. Radeon 9800 pro Antec TruPower 480watt power supply. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Wired
Tried the "bad" stick in the slot the "good" stick is in? May be a bad slot.
shadowane
No I haven't tried that yet Wired. Could the slot go bad after about six months like that?
