emissary42 Posted December 28, 2014 Share Posted December 28, 2014 In general compatibility is not even guaranteed for mixing kits of the same type, let alone different types of kits. So it basically comes down to trying it out, if you are willing to take chances. You would probably have to manually set the timings of those CMP12GX3M3A1600C9, because they need more relaxed secondary timings, and then add the CMP4GX3M2A1600C9 afterwards. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it does not... but then going from 4GB to 12GB is not all that bad either (selling the CMP4GX3M2A1600C9).
