Welsh Jester
I have a 3gb triple channel kit which is now faulty, i've ordered a set of 2x 4gb Dual Channel vengeance memory, i'm assuming this should work fine on my Asus P6T Deluxe? Triple channel memory is kinda expensive now.. so i just want to know if that Dual Channel kit will work fine? It seems the kit was optimised for Sandy Bridge, but i don't see why it shouldn't work normally on an X58 system? I know performance difference is negligable between Triple & Dual channel. Thanks. HOODedAssault
Shouldn't be an issue. You will just have less memory bandwidth than with triple channel. Which you will not notice unless memory benchmarking. I ran dual channel on my Foxconn blood rage because the 3rd slot died.
