H100 v2 help Overheating

Recommended Posts

I was having high temperature issues while steaming and gaming

I decided to try redo my thermal paste as machine is over 5yrs old now

1. I tried a thermal pad but it said it was hitting 100c with 20% load so I knew something was wrong

2. Went back to thermal paste and still get 100c with 20% load

No system lockup but don’t want to run long at that temperature

Any ideas need help main computer for work and gaming

You need to look at the H100i Temp (coolant temperature) in iCUE/Link. That is the easiest way to differentiate a cooler problem from a mounting issue. Coolant temp should be a few degrees over room temp at cold boot and usually +6-10C above that after continuous long load. That keeps most people between 25-40C.

If you coolant rise quickly and is slow to come down, that is likely some type of flow issue. If your coolant is sitting there at 20C while you are bouncing through the 90-100C range on the CPU, that is a mount issue.
