chearius
Hi, do the new SSD drives from Corsair - Force Series 3 240GB or Force Series GT 240GB support full disk encryption? Can BIOS hard drive password be used with this SSD? We have already tried an SSD from another manufacturer (also with SandForce chipset), but with that drive (after setting HDD password in BIOS, shutting the system down and powering it up), we ran into the issue that we couldn't unlock the drive with specified password and the SSD could be used only after issuing low-level ATA command SECURE-ERASE (tested with two different laptops). I am using Lenovo W520 notebook, so SATA III support is not a problem. Thanks you very much for the advice. Marek
Synbios
Sorry I cannot answer your question exactly, but I can recommend you use software based encryption: http://www.truecrypt.org/
