ConfusedNoob
Does it shorten the pump motor life, if I always leave the pump on at the highest speed? I don't mind the noise, because I use headphones for gaming anyway. Thanks.
wlw_wl
You mean the third profile selected with the button on the unit itself? The pump's speed doesn't ever change, it only affects the fans' RPM.
ConfusedNoob
Yes, I meant the button on the pump itself - so the pump speed never changes when I press the botton? Also when the fans start making noise or when they die, can I replace them with any 120mm fan with 4 pin connector? Thanks.
wlw_wl
3-pin, the controller on H100/H80 isn't PWM-based, so save yourself some money and get any 3-pin fans. Just don't top the stock fans' current rating of 0,35A per fan. It's unlikely they will work perfectly because the fan controller is calibrated for the stock fans only. I plugged in two Gentle Typhoons AP-15s and it seems their speed isn't being changed by the controller at all. No biggie since they blow the sun out of the sky anyway, but worth mentioning. The button changes the fan profiles only, the pump's speed is constant.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2012 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 19, 2012 Does it shorten the pump motor life, if I always leave the pump on at the highest speed? babdi
My pump speed hovers between 2100 ~ 2200 and temp around 41 idle. Is this OK ?
