Raveya
Hey guys, I wanna buy the Corsair 570X Case and I have seen the front Panel connector is a USB 3.0 Header. in the Manual of the Asus Maximus Code X it says it has USB 3.1 Gen1/2 Connectors and one is 20-1 Pin. Can I connect the 570x USB 3.0 Connector to the USB 3.1 on this Mainboard? Here is the manual: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/ROG_MAXIMUS_X_CODE/E13461_ROG_MAXIMUS_X_CODE_UM_WEB.pdf
DevBiker
You can connect the USB 3.0 front panel ports to the USB 3.1 Gen 1 20-pin connector (#9 on page 1-2). USB 3.1 Gen 1 is actually USB 3.0; there is no difference. USB 3.1 Gen 2 is a different connector and a different standard (#8 on page 1-2). This is an example of marketing run amok. idknox
They're different connectors. The top one is the USB 3.1 v2 connector that will connect to a usb-c port. You can use this on the 570x with the front panel upgrade kit: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/crystal-570x-rgb-usb-3-1-type-c-i-o-panel-upgrade-kit The bottom one is the USB 3.1 v1 connector that connects to a usb type A port.
