Problems with Corsair vengeance 3600 XMP profile.

Setup is:

MSI z370 Gaming M5 Motherboard.

Intel 8700k CPU

Corsair Vengeance 32gb RGB at 3600hz. (CMR32GX4M4C3600C18)

Problem:

Motherboard docs state outright that these rams are compatible.

Turning on XMP allows me to boot once, after that I am unable to start up the pc again without turning XMP back off.

I've tried updating the BIOS to the latest official version but that didn't help the issue.

Any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

I assume the "try me functionality" is some type of MSI board auto setting. Take a look at your VCCIO and SA voltages in the BIOS. I was surprised to learn GA does not seem to boost them with frequency while Asus pours it on. Some manual tweaking is likely required for those two.

It is called Memory Try It and yes it is MSI specific.

Usually if the board continously fails to POST with XMP enabled and supported memory, it is either VCCSA/IO being off (too low/high) or caused by some subtimings it was unable to properly train. Both depend on IMC and board quality/sample variation and are the reason no QVL can be taken as a 100% plug and play guarantee esp. for higher end kits.
