guldan
Hi, I'm currently running some corsair value 5400 mem on my P5AD2-E Premium as thats all i could afford at the time but am now looking to replace this with 2gb of XMS2 6400 mem but i wanted to ask some questions before i went ahead and made the purchase. As the XMS 2 6400 runs at 800mhz, and the P5AD2-E Premium is suppose to support a maximum clock speed of 711mhz for memory does this mean that the 6400 memory will run at the maximum speed of the motherboard i.e 711mhz? Also will this happen automatically or will i need to change any settings in the mobo in terms of FSB and ratios in order to achieve this speed of 711. Im runnin an intel 640 (3.2ghz) so i assume if i upped the FSB i could achieve close to the 6400's stock memory speed of 800mhz? Thanks
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 5, 2005 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 5, 2005 No you would need to over clock the system to get it to run at tat speed.
