madmat
I'm just wondering what voltages the PC 3700 Twin-X modules are supposed to run at, I've noticed that on my Abit IS7 that when I pump the Vdimm above 2.6v I start getting memory errors at the rated speed for the ram but when I drop it to 2.55v I can run the ram up to 242mhz (x2) with no errors. Is this ok for these modules? I've noticed that most people are running the ram voltages at much higher Vdimm than I am with seemingly better results. I was looking at the PDF's for the 3700 and I noticed that it omits the Vdimm they are tested at so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted February 9, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted February 9, 2004 Matt, The Voltage for our DDR modules up to XMS3700 would be Max at 2.8 Volts. And the IC's use with this are based on Samsung and then do have Voltage regulation in the IC. So adding more voltage to them will make little difference to the module it self. But when I have seen this before it has usually been the MB.
