JJN
Ok, I'm sure you've been asked this one a bunch before but i've looked and can't find this specific one. I'm scrapping my ECS K7S5A Mobo, PC2100 and XP1900 for the subject line. I want 1 gig of gaming performance corsair memory. What do you recommend? Recommend any specific settings? thx in advance
Surnom
Just upgraded to 1Gb of XMS3500C2 (Winbond BH-5). Love it. See sig. for details.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 23, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 23, 2003 If you can find them they would be a great choice, or Twinx1024-3200LL would work well with this MB and CPU, just set the memory Freq at 100%. JJN
thanks for the input. Let me ask another question. What is the best way to see my performance gain? I will have Call of Duty and the new evga FX5900XT card on my current rig this weekend (27th). I would kinda like to get some idea of the types of FPS I get on the current setup. Then install my new stuff and check performance again... but I have no idea how to do it. Also, if there is a better way to check my performance increases I'm all ears for that too. thanks again. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 23, 2003 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 23, 2003 Memory will have little affect on video but 3D Mark 2001 or 2003 for Video. And I would suggest something like aida32 for memory as that would be a better test for this.
