Frostgiant 80
I had posted this in a different thread but I think this might be a better place. So I recently purchased the Carbide Spec-Delta and through the guts in it (love the case so far I can't wait to finish it up). I liked the idea of the RGB fans it comes with but admittedly I didn't realize what I was getting into. I am still running an i5 2500k w/ an older motherboard and do not have an RGB header. What do I need to get these RGB fans running (4 total) lighting node pro? Commander pro? both? Thanks for any advice/help with this issue. There was no information on what particular fans are included in the case either.
Corsair Employee Corsair Jam Posted March 13, 2019 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 13, 2019 Hello, These fans will need an RGB fan header from the motherboard to work properly. This case was designed to work with other motherboard's RGB related software. For example, MSI's Mystic Light, Gigabyte's RGB Fusion or Asus's Aura Sync. Without these, I'm afraid the LEDs will not work properly.
Frostgiant 80
So a Commander pro would not work with these fans?
DevBiker
So a Commander pro would not work with these fans? It will control the fan speed but not the RGB.
Frostgiant 80
Interesting. If its not too much could you explain why the rgb would not work with the commander pro but would with another rgb fan? Just curious. New to the world of RGB peripherals... DevBiker
The fans for that case are 12V analog RGB. The Commander Pro is 5V Digital Addressable RGB.
Frostgiant 80
Gotcha! Well that explains it pretty well. Thank you for the responses! I plan on upgrading chip/mb soon so I may just upgrade sooner or even just by some LL series fans instead.
