stupipe
Hello all, I have run the Diagnostics on the Corsair One and I am receiving an error when the video test is being conducted. It shows that the Primary Surface Test is failing. Does this mean that the video card is bad? Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Kind regards, Stuart
Corsair Employee Corsair Alan Posted April 14, 2017 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 14, 2017 That is unusual, have you noticed any graphical distortions or errors? After system restart, please re-run the test and see if the error is consistent.
stupipe
No. I have not noticed any graphical distortions. I ran the test three times and it kept occurring. Have contacted you guys and shipped the unit back. Thanks for the reply!
Audi0phile
Hi All, Just wondering what the outcome of this issue was? I'm currently getting the same primary surface test failure on my One Pro.

solrac13
@Audi0phile Your GPU temps look great Even do primary surface test failure error is not very common, been looking on the net and haven't found much about it!!!! It sounds to like Your Video Card is failing Unforntuatly there isnt any software test for video cards out there that I know, must people run Stress test to try to find the failure It would be great if @stupipe could give you an update on her issue Did you try to Pim @stupipe ? * I wish I had my ONE so I can compare with you, so far I found a webpage review about the 1080 and here are the results https://kotaku.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-review-time-for-an-upgrade-1777415848 http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/924/suyRxe.png
stupipe
Hi there, Sorry I was away from the forums for a little while. I originally sent my unit back to Corsair and they ran diagnostics and said that there appears to be no faults with the hardware and it may be another program I have installed on my unit that is interfering with PC Doctor. I have not had any failures or abnormalities with the card. Here is a response I received from a Corsair Rep: I have chatted with our validation team and this is what they have told me: With the list of programs you have provided us, we have tried to replicate the issue on our end to no avail. Provided we don't have access to every software on the list but we did install what we can get our hands on. It is safe to say that this issue is an isolated one. Please let us know if you have encounter any actual performance issue with the system, otherwise, this is just a bug spawned from compatibility between software. It will not affect your system performance in any way. Please let me know if you have any question. My temps hit 55 max and I have never had a video card failure, so I am guessing it may be a software conflict. Let me know if you receive any outcome. I would love to know if really is an isolated issue or there are other units out there like mine.

tom542
I was getting Primary Surface Test failure on my 1080 Ti repeatedly until I turned off the in-game overlay in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
Megabeard
Getting the same error, I’m going to try remove the overlay as well and I’ll let you know if it works. Also cannot complete the diagnostic stress tests, they run for a couple seconds and then exit stating cannot run. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the Nvidia overlay causing the error, because I haven’t noticed the video card dying.
Megabeard
Turned of Nvidia in game overlay in the GeForce experience app, all short tests completed and passed! Thank you
