TX650W fan not running

I see that there is a PWR Fan header on the motherboard but I do not see this connector on my power supply. Is there supposed to be a power fan connector on this power supply?? There is no mention of it in the manual if there is. In fact, there is NO mention of the fan in there. Everything else runs just fine except for the power supply fan. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3

I checked VERY CLOSELY just now and it appears to be running. Its just so amazingly quiet that I thought it wasn't running haha. But why does this fan report as 0RPM in bios??

PWR_fan is just another fan header. It reports o rpm because there is no fan plugged into it.

 

The PSU does not actually get plugged into the MB there. There is no way to monitor the PSU's fan speed.

So why do they name it "pwr_fan" instead of "sys_fan" like all of the others??

 

Eitherway, I was impressed to see that it was running. Thought i had an RMA.

 

The PSU is mounted at the bottom of this case. I saw a video on youtube where the person mounted it with the fan facing up... I have the fan facing down, and there are vents on the bottom of the case. Fan facing down is correct, right?

Down is correct most of the time. If they're mounted up in the bottom of a case, one needs to be sure stuff doesn't fall into it. The power supply itself doesn't care which orientation is used, as long as air can still move through it.
